Sylvia Sukop, writes and teaches creative nonfiction (CNF). St. Louis is her new hometown, after Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. A finalist for AWP’s 2018 Kurt Brown Prize for Nonfiction, she has published in Waxwing (nominee, 2018 Pushcart Prize), The Southeast Review (finalist, 2017 Narrative Nonfiction Contest), Foglifter, Nat. Brut, December, LitHub, Creative Nonfiction, Journal of Lesbian Studies, and other publications and anthologies, including Sweeter Voices Still: An LGBTQ Anthology from Middle America (2021). She has been awarded fellowships from PEN Emerging Voices, Lambda Literary Emerging Writers, and NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change, as well as a Fulbright to Germany. She is energized by helping writers discover their voice and the thrilling possibilities of the CNF genre.
